Restored stone walls, reclaimed timber beams, lime plaster finishes, modernised services.
Full restoration and structural upgrade of a traditional house of character.
Perit Kenneth Rausie & Emma DeMarco
House Mons Luigi is a restored old house of character located in Malta. This project focused on preserving traditional features such as stone walls, original stone slabs, and exposed wooden beams, while upgrading the structure and services to modern standards.
Our team carefully cleaned and repaired all limestone surfaces using lime-based materials to ensure breathability and long-term durability. Where needed, damaged stones were replaced with locally sourced stone cut to match. Stone slabs were relaid with proper substrate preparation and waterproofing.
The wooden beams were restored or replaced using reclaimed timber to maintain an authentic look. Electrical and plumbing systems were upgraded and integrated discreetly to avoid disrupting the property’s historical integrity.
Walls and ceilings were finished with breathable lime plaster, and the overall design retained a classic, timeless appearance.
This project is a strong example of traditional Maltese house restoration — blending heritage craftsmanship with technical construction knowledge. Whether renovating a townhouse or restoring a farmhouse in Malta, SULAR offers the expertise needed to revive old homes with care and precision.
